Was also Earl of Chester before the title was transferred to his elder brother Edward. Received the Earldom of Leicester following the forfeiture of Simon de Montfort, also Stewardship of England and the lands of Nicolas de Segrave. Was married first to Aveline de Forz, then to Blanche of Artois.
