Toronto

I have been the director of the Toronto Scrabble Club, the oldest and largest official Scrabble club in North America, since the passing in 1998 of founding member and longtime director Mike Wise.

Club Software

Since 1996, I have been calculating club statistics for the Toronto Scrabble Club, and since I made the software available as a web application, the Oshawa Scrabble Club has adopted it as well.

If you're interested in using it, please e-mail me at jjchew@math.utoronto.ca. If you'd like a demonstration, try using the score input system with username "Demo" and password "demo". You won't be able to see the results of your editing (yet), but you can get an idea of what it will look like by visiting the Toronto or Oshawa club links above, or going to the following links directly:

Also included in the system is a basic web application for maintaining contact information for club members, and for making it available to them in a variety of formats on a password-protected web site.

Official Scrabble Club Web Pages

The National SCRABBLE Association used to maintain a roster of contact information for each of its clubs in Canada and the United States. In 2009, it was replaced in this capacity by the North American SCRABBLE® Players Association (of which I am copresident), which has its own club roster.

For legal reasons, the NSA roster did not give links to club web pages. Here is a historical list of links to all the NSA club web pages of which I was aware at one point. Some are hosted by Ben Loiterstein Greenwood at his scrabbleclub.com site.
