Ninian Beall Colonel *1625 Scotland Well-known historical figure. Reportedly seven feet tall, red-haired. Captured at the Battle of Dunbar, sold into slavery and shipped to Barbados, then transferred to Maryland. Portrait may be of one of his sons. Married first to Elizabeth Gordon, who died in Scotland. Possibly buried at Bacon Hall, one of his other homes in Prince Georges County. Will probated on 1717-02-28 mentions sons George, Charles, Ninian (deceased, survived by daughter Mary), grandson Samuel. 10411 <4:2 m. 1668 | Sarah Beall *1668 That Sarah was a daughter of NB 10411 is a matter of family tradition. In the late 20th century, this point was disputed, with some genealogists arguing that she was a niece or cousin of NB 10411, while others argued that she was a neighbour's daughter. My understanding is that because of the destruction by fire of key Calvert County records, this question cannot be resolved. 10446 | Samuel Magruder 1660-1711 JC 10005 gave his mother as EH 10432. Will dated 1710-11-23, 1711-04-16 at Prince George's Co., Maryland mentions wife Sarah, sons Samuel, Ninian, John, James, William, Alexander, Nathaniel, daughters Verlinda, Mary and Eliza. 10445 <8:3 m. 1686 | Verlinda Magruder 10144 >84:11 |
