The Linguistic Readers were a series of primers published in the 1960s. Well, not just any series of primers, or else I wouldn't bother memorializing them in this web page. They were the books from which I learned to read and enjoy the English language. They came into our family because they were written by a colleague, Henry Lee Smith of my father's (Prof. John J. Chew). They left our family because they were borrowed by a student of my father's, who never gave them back. With the birth of my son Jamie, I was reminded of the empty spot in my heart where these books lived, and am searching used book web sites to restore my collection. Here's what I've found so far.
